About us

Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at the Collar and Canine website.

My name is Joanne and I absolutely love dogs! Having spent many years working in the high-end hospitality business I felt it was time for a career change.

Throughout my life I have gained experience in the canine world whether it be with pets of family or friends , a German shepherd breeder ( I used to help out whenever possible), or employment with a doggie daycare company. All my experiences enhanced my love for dogs and the desire to work with them.

In 2018 I decided to take on the commitment of my own dog. I chose a Pomsky puppy and she is simply amazing in every way!

Time for that career change!!

I have since completed diplomas in Canine Communication, Pet Behaviour Psychology, Introduction to Being a Dog Trainer and Dog Walking & Pet Sitting.

I also have a Pet First Aid Certificate (which I ensure to refresh every 6 months).

So far my only regret is not making this career change earlier!

I love caring for and connecting with dogs, creating everlasting relationships with both dog and owner, this is extremely important to me.

What do you do if your dog can't accompany you whilst away from home overnight or on holiday? Don't panic, with the in-home boarding service you can have piece of mind knowing your furry friend is being exercised, cared for and loved like one of my own.
